Once over shyness, to be totally free from it, we must be at one with thoughts of what we missed out on and not regret them. Accept our pasts, even appreciate them — they’re still a part of us. Maybe we have qualities today that are admirable which we wouldn’t have if our lives had been shy-free. Other people had childhoods plagued by other things — any number of things — from mean family members or neighbors, poverty, illness, war to birth defects. For many it’s good just to talk about them. Here on the Boardwalk all pasts are open for discussion. The wind started swooping around the Boardwalk and I must leave quickly.
